In the afternoon of November 3 Oracle guru Tom Kyte will talk about “11 Things about 11g” at the Logica office in Amstelveen (near Amsterdam). I have attended this presentation at ODTUG this year and I assure you it’s worthwhile! After his presentation Tom will also do an AskTom Live session. So a great opportunity to enhance your knowledge with everything you wanted to know about Oracle but you never dared to ask…

EAI/Java Competence Center Meeting - August 23

On August 23, the Energy and Utilities EAI/Java Competence Center will organise another interesting compentence meeting.

This (LogicaCMG internal) meeting will focus on SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) and BPM (Business Proces Management).
During this meeting TIBCO will present their vision on SOA and BPM and a link will be made with their reference implementation.

Of course, collegues from other LogicaCMG businesses are very welcome but be so kind to send a notification by e-mail to Marliese Burggraaf beforehand.

Portals what are they, Hype or “Here to stay” ?

LogicaCMG organizes a knowledge session about Portals for which we have invited Stefan Hepper from IBM. We will be touching topics like the added value that Portals can bring to an organization and the used technology when implementing portals.

Stefan Hepper is a software architect in the WebSphere Portal team at the IBM Boeblingen Lab in Germany. He is responsible for Java standards and is one of the two specification leads for JSR 168. He has conducted lectures at international conferences, published papers, filed patents, and was a co-author of the book Pervasive Computing (Addison-Wesley 2001).
